Hi all,
In part three of our Boredom Busters series, we bring to you...READING! You might remember when you either used to hate reading as a kid and was forced to by your parents, or maybe you were one of those who loved books and couldn’t get enough of it! Regardless, reading is an amazing way to introduce yourself to different aspects of the world as well as further your thinking and analysis capabilities. Reading can help to strengthen your brain, prevent cognitive decline, and also destress. If you ever feel bored or want something relaxing to do, grab a book and begin your journey into a new world.
Here are some book recommendations:
History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera: Adam Silvera is probably one of my favorite authors, and this book explores the theme of love and friendship. It’s about a teenager’s journey in dealing with the loss of a friend.
They Both Die at the End (also by Adam Silvera): This book is about two kids that meet each other after realizing that they both only have a day left to live. This story reminds us to not take anything for granted and to love the people in our life because we never know when things will change.
Reading with Patrick by Michelle Kuo - discusses the lack of education in the rural south and the impact a teacher can have on one’s life
The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger: This book follows Holden Caulfield and his journey after getting kicked out of school. You get to see how Holden thinks and his view of the world, and some people might even relate to his hatred towards change.
Here are some additional books:
Turtles all the way Down by John Green
Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall
All the Things We Never Said by Yasmin Rahman

Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman
We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach
