Hello all,
Today we are bringing you a tasty post about …. CHOCOLATE! The sweet, cocoa-ey treat that is perfect to satisfy a craving or sweet tooth. Like people, chocolate comes in a variety of shapes and sizes and styles. You can have dark chocolate with mint or milk chocolate with nuts or even white chocolate with Oreos. Some of our own favorites include dark chocolate with mint and milk chocolate with caramel. If you are ever feeling down, a small piece of chocolate can brighten up your day. In fact, it is often recommended that you start off each day with a piece of dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is often choc-full of nutrients and antioxidants and may help with reducing high blood pressure. It is also an anti-angiogenic factor so it can even possibly reduce your chance of cancer.
Here are some fun facts and good things about chocolate:
It takes around 400 cacao beans to make just 1 pound of chocolate.
The world’s largest chocolate bar weighs 12,770 pounds.
If you like dark chocolate, there are a ton of health benefits like it contains antioxidants, it can lower blood pressure and can reduce the risk of heart disease.
Apart from milk, dark, and white chocolate, there is a rare kind of chocolate known as blond chocolate.
A lethal amount of chocolate for humans is around 22 pounds.
Europe accounts for more than half the world’s chocolate consumption.
White chocolate technically isn’t a type of chocolate because it contains cocoa butter, not cocoa powder.
Chocolate milk is a good post-workout recovery drink :) (Elaine, however, does not recommend it as she is against chocolate-flavored delicacies)
